Move the Mountain Monday: April 04, 2016
Moving the mountain means allowing obstacles blocking our path to be removed. Sometimes the Lord does this for us but other times we must do it in the Lord’s strength. This is faith and faith is putting our trust in Him into action. What is faith?
Hebrews 11:1 – Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
What can faith do? Move mountains.
Matthew 21:21 – So Jesus answered and said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but also if you say to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ it will be done. 22 And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.”
I feel such a prompting in my spirit to talk about this because of things happening in the world. I live in the metro DC area. In the past weeks there have been a multiple of senseless deaths. All around the world there are deaths occurring because of despair and evil. Through all of these tragedies we are still to keep our focus on Jesus. I don’t know about you but sometimes this is difficult for me. I don’t understand, in the natural, how these atrocities are allowed by a loving and merciful God. This has prompted me to activate and rely in an even deeper way on my trust in Him. Trusting Him even more increases my faith in Him. I do not believe God causes these tragedies or even the small difficulties in our lives. However, I do believe He will allow them to bring all of us (current and future believers) into a deeper relationship with Him built on trust. The scripture I am standing on in this current season of my life is:
Isaiah 26:3-4 – You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You,
Because he trusts in You. 4 Trust in the Lord forever, For in YAH, the Lord, is everlasting strength.
We are in a season of preparation. Preparation for what we do not know but we can see the acceleration of evil on the land as well as God’s blessings on the land. He is looking for a people after His heart. It is the increase of our faith in Him that will keep us calm and peaceful.
Philippians 4:6-7 – Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
It is important to remember that:
Hebrews 11:6 – But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
Faith is the absence of doubt. The greater our faith increases the less our doubts and fears have room to navigate and dominate our lives (in any way). It is time to activate our faith by placing our trust in the Lord who was and is and is to come!!! Move the mountain and walk in the freedom of the Lord.
