American flag flying in the wind

We Thank You

This weekend all across America people will be celebrating; pools will be open; children will be dreaming of their future summer activities; grills will be going; strangers will be greeting one another while shopping for the food to grill; and the like. With all this some will forget the meaning of this three-day weekend. It is Memorial Weekend. It is a time to remember and celebrate the many who have served and died defending this land and it’s freedoms.

I am very proud of my country and salute every member who has served and died defending every one of my constitutional rights. This post is much, much more than that. Please, do not think for one second that I am taking anything away from our soldiers because I’m not.

As we celebrate this weekend let us take the time to remember what this weekend is all about. Let us not only remember the men and women who have served and died defending this country but let us also remember the mothers and fathers of those soldiers; let us remember the wives and husbands of those soldiers; let us remember the children of those soldiers; let us remember the family and friends of those soldiers. Most importantly, let us not forget that our soldiers are still fighting for our freedoms and some do not make it back home. Some lose their lives while serving on our own soil. Unfortunately, our American media does not show us (in fact they would like us to forget) that we are still in a war.

Let each of us raise our voice to say thank you to the soldiers that have served and died to let us stand and remain free today. Let each of us raise our voice to say thank you to the friends and family who have worried and prayed countless nights for these soldiers. Let us never forget those who have died so we can voice our opinions without fear of tyranny. Let us each honor these soldiers and their friends and family by shouting “I’M PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN.”

Have a safe and blessed Memorial Weekend😘!!
