Just A Reminder
Just because someone is a believer and follower of Jesus Christ does not mean they are not paying attention to what is happening around them. Just because someone posts their opinions on their social media does not mean they are not a follower and believer in Jesus Christ.
Are there times that we lose our focus on God and apply more of our focus on the world? Yes, sometimes that happens (I know it does with me). “It doesn’t matter how many times you fall; it matters if you stay down or get back up”. I don’t know who first said that quote or if I am quoting it correctly but you understand the point. We all make mistakes. At times we allow what is happening in the world to dictate our choices. The important thing is how quickly we turn ourselves around with every one of these types of moments until eventually we have our eyes on Jesus while we are walking through the quicksand of life. With the current atmosphere of the world I think we all need to be reminded of some things.
Jeremiah 32:17-19 – ‘Ah, Lord God! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for You. 18 You show lovingkindness to thousands, and repay the iniquity of the fathers into the bosom of their children after them—the Great, the Mighty God, whose name is the Lord of hosts. 19 You are great in counsel and mighty in work, for Your eyes are open to all the ways of the sons of men, to give everyone according to his ways and according to the fruit of his doings.
Matthew 24:3-8 – Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?” 4 And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. 5 For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. 6 And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.
[“See that you are not troubled”; “…all these things must come to pass”; “… these are the beginning of sorrows”]
Then…(meaning next or after)
Matthew 24:9-14 – “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. 10 And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. 11 Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. 12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. 13 But he who endures to the end shall be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.
What to know?
Joshua 1:9 – Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
Isaiah 45:5-7 – I am the Lord, and there is no other; There is no God besides Me. I will gird you, though you have not known Me, 6 That they may know from the rising of the sun to its setting That there is none besides Me. I am the Lord, and there is no other; 7 I form the light and create darkness, I make peace and create calamity; I, the Lord, do all these things.’
Psalm 9:9-10 – The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed, A refuge in times of trouble. 10 And those who know Your name will put their trust in You; For You, Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You.
“‘Let there be light’…’Surely I am coming quickly’.” (taken from Genesis 1:3 and Revelation 22:20)
