God’s Love Overcomes

People will always have something to say about you; negative and positive. We focus more on the negative things said about us as well as the flaws in one another. In this worldly climate with social media outlets at every turn, it seems this is occurring more and more. I am guilty of this myself. We judge and speak without thinking about what is coming out of us. However, it is not what is coming out of us that needs to be fixed. The issue is what is going on inside us where negativity flows out of us instead of positivity or life.

For me, I know whenever I am in a negative space it is because of feelings of rejection and abandonment which turns into anger, bitterness, sarcasm, and being stand-offish. Holy Spirit often reminds me of my actions by reminding me of Who He is and who the “target” of my offenses (or defenses depending on how one looks at it) is. I have to tell you, it is not a good thing when I go through this process. Honestly, sometimes I feel so hurt that I want to stay in the “you hurt me so I’m going to hurt you” mentality (just keeping it real folks). Then I come to a place where I realize that thought pattern is not healthy in any way. It is a temporary solution keeping me from eternal truths. I know many of you can relate.

Take these following verses for yourself but do something else also. As you are reading them, read them with the thought of whomever you are angry or bitter towards (even public figures). Why? God made them just as He made you. God loves them the same as He loves you. These words are for them same as they are for you (whether they know/believe it or not). Allow the healing to take place deep within.

Side note: when you do something to better yourself, do not allow the enemy (because it is the enemy and not your “brothers or sisters”) to steal it away. Live, Family, in the freedom that was bought and paid for by the blood of Jesus Christ.

Genesis 1:26 – Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”

Psalm 139:13-16 – For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. 14 I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well. 15 My frame was not hidden from You, When I was made in secret, And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. 16 Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were none of them.

Jeremiah 29:11-12 – For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. 12 Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. 13 And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. [We should pray into this for anyone and everyone: that they will start to seek and search for the Lord with their whole hearts-yes, even those already in the Kingdom including ourselves.]

1 John 3:16-23 – By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. 17 But whoever has this world’s goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him? 18 My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth. 19 And by this we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before Him. 20 For if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things. 21 Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence toward God. 22 And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight. 23 And this is His commandment: that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another, as He gave us commandment.
