Be Careful How We Pray
If you will notice, I placed “we” and not “you” in the title. This is done purposefully because as any of us pray, there is a collectiveness about our prayers. I will make this very short because I have one thing on my mind.
Romans 8:26-27 – Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. 27 Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
We do not always know what to pray or how to pray. That is why we need our relationship with the Holy Trinity to be in constant progress. I have heard, throughout my time as a Christian, people pray for the quick return of our Lord Jesus Christ. I do believe His return is soon but I am not ready for it at this time. Though we cannot stop it and none of us know the day or hour, I do know there is much more work I need to do within myself. Here is what has been on my mind. If the Lord comes today, what about all those that are still lost in the wilderness? What about those words I have spoken that I have not repented of yet? For me, I will pray for God’s mercy to give me one more day and to help me do His will more and more each day so that when the Lord returns, I can be more like Him.
