Make A Joyful Noise

Make A Joyful Noise

For the past few weeks, Holy Spirit has been highlighting one verse to me, “make a joyful noise unto the Lord…”. I am one who has an issue with complaining when things don’t go exactly how I plan them to be (I am sure none of you can relate-sarcasm-hahahahahaha). I set out to really work at enjoying my life a few weeks ago due to circumstances happening around me. As soon as I made this decision with my full heart, I started to see that verse in many places. When I asked Holy Spirit what to write about He showed me the verse again. Let us all look at the full Psalm together.

Psalm 100:1-3 – Make a joyful shout to the Lord, all you lands!2 Serve the Lord with gladness; Come before His presence with singing. 3 Know that the Lord, He is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.

“Make a joyful shout to the Lord”.

‘Make’ definitions:
*Form (something) by putting parts together or combining substances; construct; create.
*Cause (something) to exist or come about; bring about.
*Serve as or become through development or adaptation.

“Serve the Lord with gladness”.

‘Serve’ definitions:
*Perform duties or services for (another person or an organization).
*Be of use in achieving or satisfying.

“We are His people and the sheep of His pasture”.

John 10:27-30 – My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. 28 And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand. 30 I and My Father are one.”

Psalm 100:4-5 – Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.5 For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting, And His truth endures to all generations.

The Lord is calling us to come higher into Him and with Him. The time for talking just to talk is over. We are entering a new season in, by, and of our God Almighty. There are rules of coming into and remaining in His Presence. When I say His Presence I am specifically speaking of the Holy of Holies.

We are to enter the gates of His Eternal Temple with thanksgiving (not complaining). We are to enter into the courts (inner and outer courts) of His Eternal Temple with praise (not complaining). His mercy is everlasting and His truth endures forever. If we are not His sheep, we cannot hear His voice. If we cannot hear His voice, we cannot be obedient to what He says to us. It is time for all of us to call out to Him so He can help us “make a joyful shout” to Him. The order is laid out for us. Read Psalm 100 again and notice the order. May God continue to bless us all in every way.
