The joy of The Lord IS MY Strength

Exodus 20:22-26 – Then the Lord said to Moses, “Thus you shall say to the Israelites, ‘You have seen for yourselves that I have spoken to you from heaven. 23 You shall not make other gods [to worship] besides Me; gods of silver or gods of gold, you shall not make [these lifeless idols] for yourselves. 24 You shall make an altar of earth for Me, and sacrifice on it your burnt offerings and your peace offerings, your sheep and your oxen. In every place where I cause My Name to be recorded and remembered [through revelation of My divine nature] I will come to you and bless you. 25 If you make an altar of stone for Me, you shall not build it of cut stones, for if you use a chisel on it, you will profane it. 26 Nor shall you go up to My altar on steps, so that your nakedness will not be exposed on it.’ [AMP]

In this season I am embarking upon yet another refreshing of Holy Spirit’s intense Quality Assurance for Us. One of my favourite things about myself is my unique ability (at least to and for myself) to associate words. As I was returning through my journals, I stumbled across a past thought that is a start for me (many many). I looked up the Bible passage and, as most of us do or should, made another connection that I did not recognize before.

  1. This specific Bible passage actually reads “You have seen that I have spoken to you . . . “. Hmmm. We see a massive amount of issues throughout any tic of our daily clocks. My thought process revolves, awarely, around the senses {sight, sound, smell, taste, and touch/texture}. This is why seeing this passage as I do creates and brings more fascination toward me regarding the Ways of God. (Isaiah 55:8-10)
  2. What I did not recognize before is the following relation Holy Spirit has sprung within my mind . . .

We hold within us the earth, wind, oceans, elements, and whatever else any of us can think of as The Lord of Hosts continues to share His ways of HIS Mind/Imagination revelatorially with us. That of course is all ‘subjective’ and ‘relative’. My focus was actually on the burnt offerings and the peace offerings. It is the word “AND” that is fascinatingly valuable to me in this moment of space. One of my mentors used to see our existence in a way that I have not witnessed in the realness of time. I strongly believe her sight through her intercessory gift is something her and I autonomically share by the Power of Holy Spirit. Too keep this short, as I continue to organize, the line about the sheep and oxen took me aback today. I immediately began to process the following through my mind:

Isaiah 11:3-7 – And He will delight in the fear of the Lord, And He will not judge by what His eyes see, Nor make decisions by what His ears hear; 4 But with righteousness and justice He will judge the poor, And decide with fairness for the downtrodden of the earth; And He shall strike the earth with the rod of His mouth, And with the breath of His lips He shall slay the wicked. 5 And righteousness will be the belt around His loins, And faithfulness the belt around His waist. 6 And the wolf will dwell with the lamb, And the leopard will lie down with the young goat, And the calf and the young lion and the fatted steer together; And a little child will lead them. 7 And the cow and the bear will graze [together], Their young will lie down together, And the lion shall eat straw like the ox.

Exodus 20-21; John 6-7

Exodus 20:24a – An altar of earth you shall make for Me, and you shall sacrifice on it your burnt offerings and your peace offerings, your sheep and your oxen.

-> We are His Temple and we were made of the dust from the ground

-> Our prayers, confessions {concessions}, and life are our sacrifice to the Lord through our Belief in the Sacrifice and Resurrection of Jesus Christ.

?sheep = humility (being humble)? [through Jesus Christ]

oxen (bulls) = strength {through Jesus Christ}

Exodus 20:24b – In every place where I record My name I will come to you, and I will bless you.

v. 25 – And if you make Me an altar of stone, you shall not build it of hewn stone; for if you use your tool on it, you have profaned it.

{pause/break}

This last passage reads differently to me. I read it as Holy Spirit teaching to make The Lord our altar of stone; just as Moses had 2 opportunities in bringing forth water from a stone as a foresight image of Jesus Himself. Also similar to the Sons of Eli’s overshadowed lack of proper judgment serving the Lord.

{cont.}

Jesus is the chief stone. Flesh cannot do the things of the spirit. Spirit walks after spirit and flesh walks after flesh. When we try to do spiritual things in our fleshly (carnal) nature it is profane because we are saying, “God, I can do this and I’m not listening to what you say.”

I choose to view this quite differently at this time as His growth is changing our ways. I’m one that I actually cuss out God, I talk out loud in my alone time and whatever words come out is what comes out. Why am I going to hide it? He knows it’s in my heart anyway. I’d rather be sulking and raging in His Presence than anything and anywhere else. It’s part of any relationship; which we have yet to reveal. I revere the Lord too much to hold any of myself, especially my feelings, from Him. I take my consequences from Him because I came to a deep understanding of His Love. When I say deep, I mean the crushing kind that only allows me to imagine a fraction of HIS True and Worthy love, suffering, and His Sacrifice for Us.
