“The Bride (Tried by Fire and Bound by God’s Love)”-Alicia R. Shipe

1 Timothy 3:14-16 – These things I write to you, though I hope to come to you shortly; 15 but if I am delayed, I write so that you may know how you ought to conduct yourself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth. 16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness:

God was manifested in the flesh,
Justified in the Spirit,
Seen by angels,
Preached among the Gentiles,
Believed on in the world,
Received up in glory.

The Black Panther Party

written by/as: Alicia Renee Polston

A militia for an ongoing struggle
The struggle for freedom, the struggle for hope
Fighting for equality
Tired of being cut off by a rope
A group of people fighting for what they believe in
Fighting for a cause by any means it takes
If they are being treated with violence
They will fight back with violence and no breaks

A controversial and revolutionary group
Of people who were tired of being the heel
The Black Panther Party is who I’m talking about
Which was founded by Hewey Newton and Bobby Seale

They armed themselves, which was necessary
For those that were being harassed
The policemen were not doing their jobs
The government felt to let it pass

The law of the land, the law which they follow
Says, “…liberty and justice for all…”
So how could one group be more free than another?
With this the system would fall

Four-Hundred years, never again
Is what Newton and Seale had planned
They educated the young and the old
To fight for their rights in demand

The Black Panther Party was violent indeed
I will not tell you a lie
But because they were treated violently
And I ask you the question, Why?
